Hello friends!

It’s been a long time, and I apologize for the radio silence on my end. However, the last month of late night writing, stressing over employment, and where I’ll be living has all come to an end. I am so excited to let you know what my life has in store and what you can expect from this blog going forward.

(Spoiler alert: I got hired for my dream job and will be traveling across the world very soon!!)

Student No Longer

This is a bittersweet announcement: in a matter of weeks, I will officially have completed my Master of Public Health degree and will no longer be a student. This means that come the fall I will experience my first September in 20 years where I will not be returning to school. That is pretty terrifying! I’ve spent so much of my adult life in classrooms, within library walls, and living my life around the cycles of midterms and final examinations. But, all good things must come to an end. And while I’ve thoroughly enjoyed my time in grad school, I’m also excited to start the next phase of my life. That brings me to more exciting news…

Career Mode

After the stress, worry, and wonder if I would be employed come graduation, I am thrilled to announce I was offered a dream position with a provincial organization. For the last four years, I have been intensely passionate about comprehensive school health – embedding health and wellness into schools. And now, I have the opportunity to pursue this goal on a daily basis, with a job that is dynamic, exciting, and will let me explore this great province. I couldn’t be happier with this position, and I feel (as my boyfriend would say) #blessed.

But First; Adventure!

And while all of the excitement of graduating and starting a ‘real’ career is fast approaching, I have made the decision to book a trip before things get too serious. After all, this degree has earned me a vacation from the sheer stress it has induced over these last two years. My boyfriend and I have chosen to spend 4 weeks backpacking China and Vietnam at the end of July to enjoy the beauty of the world before I start my job and he goes back to school. I have never been to SE Asia, but I am so excited to travel and explore with someone I love so much. I plan to soak in as much beach, food, and culture as possible in 4 weeks. And I feel beyond grateful that the timing of graduation, travel, and work has fallen into such perfect place.

So, there is my huge, exciting, world-traveling life update that’s been developing over the last few months. I would never be at this place in my life without the love and support of so many incredible people. And to you, the reader, thank you for following along and sticking around during my unforeseen hiatus.

I promise with the completion of grad school this space will be filled regularly with recipes, health tips, and lifestyle adventures. I even have some scheduled posts while I’m away so feel free to check back soon.

But for now, if you’ve been to China or Vietnam please leave your recommendations below. We leave very soon and I’d love to get some advice on what to see!

Enjoy the day and thanks for being here,
